Add this wonderful sculpture from the Rodin
collection to your very own decor. What an excellent conversation piece this is!
Like
"The Thinker" and many other well-known sculptures the "Crouching
Woman" is based on a figure from the tympanum of the Gates of Hell, a
bronze portal meant for the Musee des Arts Decoratifs which Auguste Rodin
never finished. There The Crouching Woman represents -- with her caryatid-like
pose, powerful and vulnerable at the same time -- one of the lost souls being
judged in the Last Judgment.
This
replica is a detailed reproduction of this character from Rodin's famous
sculpture, rich with the color and hand sculpted texture after the
original. This reproduction is a true joy for the Rodin collector!
