Greek Theater flourished in ancient
Greece between c. 550 and c. 220 BC.
The origins of Western Theater can be
traced back to Ancient Greece. Dramas, comedys, and satyrs were the main
showcases in the theater.
It all began as a festival, honoring the Greek god
of fertility and wind Dionysus. Eventually the theater would get exported to
Athen's numerous allies in order to promote a common cultural identity.
